The Story

Meet Carl Hoffman. Born and raised in Michigan, Carl found a love for hunting at a young age. He spent many fall evenings putting bait piles out and prepping his deer blind. On September 27th, 2016, Carl set out into the woods to set up his deer blind for the upcoming hunting season. When Carl did not return home that evening, family, and friends set out to look for him. Later that night, he was found laying in the woods cold, damp, in pain and unable to move. Carl had fallen from his deer blind and was immediately rushed to the hospital. From that day on, his life would never be the same. The 18-foot fall broke his back in three places, causing a complete spinal cord injury and leaving him with no feeling or control from the rib cage down.

Over the last several years he underwent many surgeries, infections, therapies, and endless nights in the hospital. With custom construction modifications made to his home, the purchase of a modified vehicle so he can drive independently, a mechanical lift to be able to get into his home and much more, Carl is trying with all his strength to live his life to the fullest. Although he cannot use his body like he used to, Carl is still a man. He is a friend, an Uncle, a Son, a Brother. He is a youth Christian Counselor. He is an employee. He is reality show junkie. He is a dog lover. And against all odds, he is still a Hunter.
